summer love

A few weeks ago I got to take a Monday off of work, so Michael and I decided to take advantage of the day and spend it at the beach. The weather forecast was trying its best to convince us that it would be a terribly cloudy and miserable beach day, but we didn't listen. Much to our excitement the sun ended up shining through the clouds and the weather was so warm I couldn't imagine being anywhere else that day. 

Besides... spending days with the man I am going to marry in eleven months makes for an incredible day all its own. 

christmas in april!

Last Christmas I gave Michael tickets to see Brian Regan live. It seemed like ages away from December but the day finally came! He is one of our favorite comedians and the show did not disappoint! 

I ended up spending the whole day with Michael at school since we would already be in the area. We went to his first class together and then I hung around campus while he went to his last two discussions. I even helped him make some flash cards in the study lounge for his Spanish class and felt like a pretty legitimate student ;)  

Once we were finally ready to leave his school we headed downtown to find somewhere for dinner. We ended up choosing this really adorable Mexican restaurant at the corner of the Mission Inn and it could not have been more perfect. We sat outdoors and the weather was completely gorgeous as the sun was setting. After some amazing margaritas and fajitas, we walked over to the theater and ended our day with the show. 

Needless to say, gifts that last this long are always a good idea. We loved having something to look forward to and it was a perfect excuse for a special date night in the middle of April :] 

double date: homemade dinner

Last week we had a double date night with our good friends Sydney and Curtis. We are all in the efforts of saving money these days so we decided a little homemade dinner in their apartment would be the best idea. It was perfectly laid back, relaxing and fun. We ate, drank, played games, and even topped off the night with a spontaneous trip down to the jacuzzi with some late night margaritas. 

It really was a perfect night, not to mention we just love hanging out with these crazy kids anyways :] 

Can't wait for our next double date together!

Michael was on spring break last week, so naturally we had to take advantage of the opportunity to escape for a day to the beach. The weather forecast told us it would be cloudy the entire week, but our day together turned out to be perfectly sunny and warm. 

There is just something about having an entire day without.a.care.in.the.world....all to ourselves. 

Days like these make me realize how full my heart really is. Not to mention how lucky I am to have a fiance who carries my over sized hot pink bag like its his favorite thing.

waffle love

We recently discovered that double dates are exceptionally better when waffle sandwiches are involved.

 It should also be noted that chicken and waffles together is just as mind-blowing as we thought it would be. I mean... fried chicken with maple syrup? Stop itttt.
